Prof. Nagy Habib

CEO and founder

Nagy is Chair of Surgery and the Head of Liver and Pancreas Surgery at Imperial College Healthcare Trust at Hammersmith Hospital as well as at the Imperial College London.  He was  Pro-rector in charge of commercial affairs for Imperial College London. Nagy is a member of more than a dozen British, American and international scientific societies and holds several honorary professorships and continues to give lectures around the world. He has secured over GBP 8 million of grant funding and has registered numerous patents. He has a history of inventing and commercializing medical devices.

Joanna Nicholls

General Manager

Joanna is Administrative and Research Manager of the liver and pancreas surgery section of the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College London Hammersmith Campus. She is an experienced transplant coordinator and holds a BSc. from the University of Surrey as well as an MSc. from London Guildhall University.

Cherif Habib

Business Development

Cherif was a management consultant at McKinsey & Co advising clients on general management, financial, and strategic topics. Prior to McKinsey, he co-founded and was Managing Director of Cesium Telecom, a leading Canadian telecom distribution company

Phil Hales

Distribution

Phil has twenty years of experience gained from within the medical device industry, mostly with radio frequency products. He was the Electrosurgery Product Manger with Eschmann Equipment before joining Gyrus Medical, where he became Vice President of the Far East Division before returning to the UK as General Manager for Sales, Marketing and Distribution. He is currently assisting the evaluation of potential markets and the development of distribution channels for the EMcision Limited product pipeline.

Jim Mackenzie

Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs

Jim specialises in implementing ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 quality systems and in CE marking / FDA registration of all classes of medical devices. Jim trained as a bio-medical engineer and has an MSc in Quality Management, and holds membership of the Chartered Quality Institute.

Robert Dickinson

Technical & Engineering

Robert is a lecturer at the Department of Bio-engineering, Imperial College. He graduated with a degree in physics from Cambridge University, and then obtained a PhD in Biophysics from the University of London, in ultrasound signal processing. Dr Dickinson has extensive experience in medical imaging, in both hospital and industrial environments. He worked on MRI coil development and system integration at Picker International Ltd and ultrasound imaging in a small start-up company where he developed a sub-1mm intravascular ultrasound imaging catheter for coronary arteries.  He has substantial experience in the bio-compatibility and other issues of invasive medical devices, together with commercialisation and IP transfer. He has filed over 12 patents, and has CE marked a number of medical devices,

Andrew Pacey

Operations

For the last 25 years Andrew has been in the forefront of the commercialisation of leading edge technologies and medical innovation. He has a wide IP portfolio including RF surgical devices, cardiovascular catheters, and stem cell delivery.  Andrew is an expert in taking innovation concepts and turning them into profitable business.  He has successfully introduced new products via international partnership within both start ups and multi national corporations.

Sandra McColm

Production

Sandra has over 25 years of experience, gained from within the medical device/Pharma and Electronic industry. Responsible for the production of a wide range of products including ultrasound catheter. She worked on product development of Varisolve™ for BTG, using foam sclerosant to treat varicose veins. She was the Production Manger with IRL, IVUS ultrasound catheters, responsible for taking leading edge technology from prototype to Technology transfer.

Samantha Bowers

Administration

Samantha has over 20 years experience in administrative roles and provides a high calibre of organisational skills.  Within EMcision, she is responsible for the management of all Habib device technical files, which also includes responsibility for the organisation and upkeep of all documentation on our company grouphub.
