4X
The Habib 4X is a RF device that overcomes the well-established difficulties of significant blood loss encountered when surgically removing tumours from tissue with a propensity to bleed. The RF energy delivered by the four electrodes coagulates the tissue and seals vessels at the same time in the same way as a traditional diathermy. However, because of the greater energy delivered, vessel sealing is more efficient making the procedure faster and the loss of blood reduced. Less blood loss, faster surgery and less anaesthesia may allow the patient to avoid a blood transfusion, to avoid time in intensive care and finally, will allow him to be discharged earlier from hospital, lowering medical costs.
In the first instance, the Habib 4X has been targeted at the liver resection market, but the device has been successfully deployed in other high vascular tissues such as kidney, spleen, pancreas, uterus and lung. The Habib 4X is distinctive in that it has been designed by surgeons. It has benefited from two years of market testing. In addition, EMcision and surgeons from around the world have published widely the clinical results using this device.
